At last I am starting a blog! This is mainly thanks to Chulaka and Shanaka who keep on asking me to do so. Let's see how it goes. Chula and Shana want my recipes. But I hope that I will write little bit more than the boring cooking stuff.
I just wanted to write something that happened yesterday which was funny, but it also shows the connections I had with CSE family.
Yesterday PizzaHut had an offer on a credit card and as my three nieces were coming I wanted to order some pizza. I have always been very happy about the PizzaHut’s database management in keeping not only just customer name and address, but some other preferences as well.
When I called PizzaHut from my mobile, the number that I always use to call them, I was asked whether I was "Chulaka Gunasekara". Hmm... had to say oh no, but he also orders Pizza for us!. Next came the delivery address issue. No no it is not CSE, University of Moratuwa, I do have a home address too. No that is not the correct home address that was where I lives two and half years ago!
Things should be Ok now that I have go everything cleared! No way! The number the delivery guy is calling is Shehan's. Thanks Shehan for giving him the correct directions.
A simple funny story, but I am certain that I will have many more of this sort, for CSE was my family, my home for a long time. I do not feel that I am leaving that family. CSE would always have highest priority in my life. I do not want to miss my kids, I do not want to miss them growing up. I want to be there for them, hold their hands and guide them. I want to be there for them when they need a shoulder to cry, when they need that little pat on their back to celebrate. But more than anything else I want to be there because that will make me happy to be there. I am glad that I will be able to do that.
